Charles! the sound improvement can't really be adequately described! I'm so happy.

Now, old ar turntable goes to cj preamp, BYOB amp and completed BYOB speakers.  Totally stunned at the improvement! Clarity, depth, lightness, I mean, it's hard to leave the room when music is on. Had some people over to check it out, all of them amazed. This morning, my assistant came in to work and we were listening at 6:30AM - hard to believe, at that hour on a monday morning, the two of us just got more and more relaxed. His wife came over for lunch and we were all listening.  I have 2 close friends, both audiophiles coming over soon. One is a professor of particle physics at Dartmouth (very hard core jazz aficionado, vinyl + high end tube set up) and the other teaches classical flute, trained at Harvard and also a vinyl enthusiast so I'm really looking forward to having them check it out.
