I can second this. The combination has some really organic feeling. When you get your new Altmann box, there is a note on the packaging what is inside, DAC,ADC, amp or phono! I can imagine an Altmann phono powered from the car battery can be really exciting.

Few weeks ago we tried Michell Orbe/SME V/ Transfiguration Orpheus analog system to a EAR 864 pre and then the Altmann BYOB and Druid. It was bloody good. Then we tried the same chain through an Altmann ADC to the Altmann DAC then to the pre. At 96kHz there was no difference between the analog and digital chain. They were absolutely the same sounding and the most amazing was that we could not hear practically any meaningful difference @44.1 kHz/16 bit through the Altmann chain. So soon I will start to digitize some of our +20k LPs to my Macbook.
