Review of Altmann Attraction DAC as seen on www.gearslutz.com :

Another DAC option?
------------------------------------------------------------------------
I recently found myself in the position of having to finally get a decent DAC and all the ones you guys have mentioned have obviously been considered. I've tried the Apogee Rosetta 200 and had considered the Benchmark DAC1 but to cut a long story short I went for something a bit more, shall we say, unusual...

I needed this DAC primarily for mixing and mastering and secondly for listening for pleasure. I run ATC SCM10 monitors which are extremely unforgiving (a bad recording sounds bad, ideal for working with I guess).

Anyway after much research and A/Bing I went for the Altmann Attraction DAC. This guy in Germany makes these DACS for the audiophile and engineer markets as they have a very pure sound (no upsampling or any of that bollocks). They also run off a car battery as this keeps the supply totally pure and means they can be sold at a reasonable price. This thing is undoubtadly the best DAC ive ever heard with incredible transient response, clarity and transparency. BUT it doesnt look like much it has to be said...
